Game Vision Statement

Introduction
The Extreme Wilderness is a first person shooter game for PC that you are in a 3D open world and must survive the danger's.

Description
It start's off with you wake up in the wilderness with nothing so must venture your way around the map to collect different item's such as wood, a gun, ammo, health packs etc. with some of these item's you can kill the dangerous animal's before they kill you. With wood you can make a small little base to keep safe, or to even build a path way up onto a mountain. If you find a health pack it will restore all of your health if you have taken damage from something. Your health bar will be visible on the screen as well as the amount of ammo you have. The longer the game goes on the harder it will be to survive as the danger's become more frequent. You will be able to find different weapons across the map. There will be thing's such as a building that will be guarded by security and will try to kill you if you enter but you must try get pass them if you want what is inside (which could be body Armour, better weapons and health packs. The game will be in daylight and will transition into night as you go on, at night it is dangerous as wolves will then come into the game. You must also find food and water to keep you from starving. once you start starving your health will go down very quickly. If you get die you will re spawn but with nothing, but if you have built something it will still be there if you come across it.

  1. Hi Chloe, I like the idea of the mountain scene, it adds a spooky feel to the game I imagine you would set the playable time to around 7pm to very late in the night and the user would have only the moonlight to work from. I like the survival aspect, I'm curious would it be a permanent death or would the user be able to re-spawn and continue the progress? I wonder what the games finishing point would be is there a final location in which the user must reach in order to survive? What weapons would be available? Maybe the user has to find the weapons ... and upgrade the weapons over the duration of game.

Anyway Nice game idea, Best of luck with it!

  2. Hey Chloe, love the game idea! I like how the player has to be intuitive and build their own shelter rather than the shelter already being there. I think this idea of fighting to survive will make the game really thrilling to play. The player will always be on edge within the game which keeps the player interested and engaged. Will the player only be able to carry one weapon in their hand at all times? Or will there be an inventory of different weapons they can use? Will they only be able to use the weapons they picked up from the ground? I think it could be interesting to play around with the idea of the player only being able to carry one weapon with them at all times, this means when they come to an obstacle they will have to search for the correct weapon or work with the one they have. This could add to thrilling element of your game. Just an idea! Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

  3. Hey Chloe!
Like Rob said, I like the idea of it being set in a mountainous scene. It sounds very spooky and I feel like you're going for a scary vibe. Would you include a day-night cycle to allow players to move around during day time and choose to hide at night if they wish? I think it would be cool to add sounds of rustling bushes or branches breaking as you move through the mountains. The reason I suggest this is that if you're going for a spooky vibe you could have these sounds queued so that when a player thinks that they're alone there's constant echos of the forest to keep them on edge. Just a thought, look forward to the progress you make on the game!

  4. Hey chole. Just read your post about this Idea and the setting alone really makes this stand out. The setting could really add some atmosphere and tension. Making the player on edge and adding to the immersion is a unique and cool idea indeed. Love it. I like how you need to collect items and ammo etc, it seems to combine a survival horror/ rpg or open world mechanics. Im getting a vibe of fallout but with a horror twist and the increase of difficutly is a new one, seems to add more playability. Cant wait to see more of this Chole, hope it goes well.

  5. Hi Chloe! I really like the idea behind your game. Survival games are always really good to play because they keep your interest and you have an important purpose throughout the whole game. The setting seems like it would keep you on edge too! I also really like the idea of how it starts as daytime and progresses into night, gives it a realistic vibe and it's cool the wolves come out at night time too. I can connect with the game because I am also making an adventure game with a creepy/eerie vibe. You mention finding different weapons across the map, I'm curious what would be the purpose of different weapons if they all essentially kill and keep you safe, or would you get extra points for finding like a 'special' weapon? That could be cool! Really enjoyed reading your ideas anyway and best of luck with the project :)

  6. Hi Chloe, you game seems very interesting it's sort of like an RPG but it's a shooter, i like he concept behind it, seems like a survival game, you could even add in horror elements to it to make it more spooky, i see a lot of potential here, the game seems like it could be something you would play on a console, one suggestion if i may, maybe add in the kind of feel you would if you was sort of in a resident evil game, either way your game seems very good and looking forward to seeing it finished.

Introduction to me

Well....my name is Chloe Traynor, I am from Wicklow and live up in the mountains in the middle of no where. I did a 2 year multimedia plc course in Blackrock to get into the second year of this course. I've been into computers since I was very young as one of my older brothers was a techy guy and showed me the ways.  I went on a J1 to the USA for the summer with 2 of my friends and it was the best experience of my life so far. you meet so many new people not just from America but from all over the world like Bulgaria, Thailand, Taiwan and Australia. We worked in South Carolina for 2 and a half months working in a restuarant where every one was super friendly and loved us just cause we were Irish. we then went travelling all along the east coast of America to Washington DC, Philadelphia and finishing off in New York. we seen everything there was to see in each of the states and by the end in New York we tried not to blow all our money so we just lived off of the euro saver menu in

First Playable

I downloaded a assets pack from the asset store called 'citizen of the forest'. I thought this pack would be handy so as I could add some buildings with detail like for instance to add different set's of furniture. I was thinking maybe I could add into my game where the player can take a nap in the bed to gain health back. I then downloaded some asset's from Jimmy Vegas's site. I used his package with the tree's and grass. I Decided to go with this as I've used these asset's before so I know they work good. I Downloaded a gun from the asset store and attached it to the FPS controller by watching a Jimmy Vegas tutorial on YouTube. His tutorial show's how to attach an axe to a player so I'm going to have to find one where it shows me how to make a gun shoot. I have been making my game between two different computer's which have different version's of unity and i keep getting error's here and there which is very annoyi
